alrighty so this week we finished up the human rights thing which was great because i wasnt a huge fan of it and we started the mystery unit and i love mysteries. i have always watched csi and anything crime or mystery related. so the first story that we watched was about a woman who was in her house and she has a dog. she was going to go to bed so she blew out the candles and crawled into bed. Then she was awkened by this dripping sound and u just dont wake up to dripping or atleast i dont. she stuck her hand down from the bed to make sure that her dog was still laying down on the side of her bed and so then he licked her hand. so then she got up and went into the kitchen to make sure the sink just wasnt leaking a litte bit so she turned the knobs really tight to stop the leaking. But that was not the problem so she went to the bathrooms and turned those knobs tight again. then she realized that, that was not the problem either. on her way back to her bed she saw that the door to her gardin was slightly open and that the dripping was coming from her cloths line and she went over to find that the there was a not a puddle of water but a puddle of blood and her dogs head cut off and hanging from the cloths line. that means the man who killed her dog licked the womans hand when she stuck it down on the side of the bed. but i find that quite odd because first of all why would u just randomly kill a dog and the other odd thing is that fact that the man licked her hand and was on the ground beside her. I thought that was a pretty good story. Then we watched a clip from i think it was called the stranger that calls or something  around then and that was a pretty scary clip or clip that we watched from the movie. the part that we watched was when the parents were going to go out and party and they hired a babysitter. the parents left and the ids were upstairs asleep in their rooms. Then later on there is this man who kept calling like every fifteen minutes or so. He kept saying have u checked on the kids yet. she doesnt really respond and he hangs up. he kept asking this question and then she ended up calling the police and they said it was probably just someone messing around and then they said she had to keep him on the line for a min and then they would track to where the call is coming from. she got him to stay on the line for a min by asking him questions and one of the questions she asked was can you see me? and the man said yes and then she started freaking out and the police called back saying the call came from inside the house and then the they rushed to the house and she saw the door start to open upstairs because the light was going across the hallway. next she was rushing to get out the house and as soon as she got the door unlocked and opened the door a man was standing right out side and it was the police. That is the part that we saw. Well that was my blog for this week and im actually excited to find out what we  are going to read or watch next :)

Alrighty so for this week we worked on the same stuff which was human rights. The movies we watched were pretty good. The first on we watched was the Japanese one. In that clip they were allowed to bring whatever they wanted as long as they coud carry it. When they got to the camp  they set their stuff up in the cabins. There was no walls that seperated certain spots so they used sheets to block areas off. The Japanese had a lot easier trip in their concentration camps than the jewish people had because the jewish people had to work very hard in different jobs. Another thing that was not hte same was how the jews just got killed because the germans were angry or upset. They were put into big chambers and died from the gas. They also did not get to bring whatever they could even if they were able to carry it/ Only some people survived the concentration camps. That brings me to the next clip or video that we watched. The next video we watched was about a family of three that got split up when they got to the concentration camp. The mom went with all of the women and had to wear a thing or cloth on their heads. Then the dad went with the men and the little boy was supposed to be with the other little children and he was for a little bit but then he got back with his dad. The little boy did not know why they were at the camp and so his father told him that it was game and whoever got to a thousand points first won a tank for 1st place and got to go home. One day the father was working and carrying a heaving axel. His child then came running into the factory and said that the kids were getting showers and that he did not want to get one. His dad told him that he needed to get one, but he said no. Then the young boy asked why his dad was there and working superr hrad. His fathers excuse was that he was build part of the tank when clearly they were forced to work. By the end of the video the dad got in trouble and got shot by one of the security men. The mother went in this truck and she got out free. The young boy was the only one at the camp and he was hiding becuase his dad said it was part of the game and he could come out when no one was around or in site, so then he got out of his hiding spot and next thing he knew there was a tank that came around the corner that was in front of him. The little boy said, "It's real!" and so the tank stopped and this gentlemen came out and asked if the boy was alone and he said yes and the man wanted to know his name but the little boy wouldnt let him know. Then the man let the little boy get on the tank and they rde it all the way out to were the women were free. The boy saw his mom and started calling her name and then both of them were free and the only problem was that the father did not make it out alive. Well that was my journal for the week!!

The 3 paragraphs

In the couple chapters that we read in Nightjohn tells a story of the life of slaves on a slave plantation from a slave girl named Sarny. The slave plantation is in the South. In Chapter Two Sarny hears the Missus talking about buying hands. Sarny kind of knows what money is, but in general money is an unknown thing to the slaves. Sarny found a penny one day and she went to show Mammy and she said to put the penny away. Mammy was the mother figure on the slave plantation. Sarny hid the penny in the dirt and every once in a while she would take it out and clean it until it shined. One day Mammy was praying and got caught by the master. The slaves weren’t even allowed to pray and the masters did not want them to know about God. Mammy prayed all the time even though she wasn’t supposed to. She would pray really late at night so no one could hear her. Another place that Mammy prayed was in the kettle that they used for cooking so that Old Waller, the master or plantation owner, and the rest of the White house to hear her. In Chapter Three Nightjohn was introduced. When Old Waller bought him into the plantation he was walking in front of the horses and not in the cart. He had a shackle on his neck so when the horses it would jerk on his neck and he would have to stop. Nightjohn came in naked with old scars from the whip up and down his back and on his rear end and some on his legs too. Old Waller works Nightjohn extremely hard and long. That same night, Mammy made him new pants and she made pants for all of the new hands. Also that night Sarny, who has tobacco in her dress gives a lip of it to Nightjohn because he said he would trade three letters for a lip of tobacco. Sarny gave him a lip of tobacco because she was curious on what exactly letters were. That night she asked him some questions and then he taught her the letter “A”. In Chapter Four there is much that happens. For example Sarny tells the readers about two guys who tried to run away. Their names were Pawley and Jim. Pawley met a girl in another plantation and would normally come home before the white house got up, but one night he fell asleep and so the masters sent out after him with a dog and they ended up cutting the back of his ankles so he could run and something went wrong so he bled to death that night. Jim on the other hand ran and the dogs were after him and he climbed a tree but his lower half didn’t get up and so the dogs ate everything from his hips down and he died in the tree. The other person that Sarny tells us about is Alice, she was the breeder of the plantation and she ran after being whipped. She went down to the other end of the cotton field before they went after her and she got ripped apart by the dog, but she did not die. Mammy sewed up all the flaps of skin and she ended up surviving. Mammy said she was too tough for herself. Later that night Nightjohn decided to teach Sarny some more letters. Mammy ended up finding out that Nightjohn has been teaching her to read and write. Nightjohn convinces Mammy to let him keep teaching her because when he ran away and got free, he came back just to teach kids how to read and write. His purpose was that when they do get free, they will need to be able to write about what happened during their time in the plantation and explain what the white house did to them. So Nightjohn continued to teach Sarny the letters and that is what happened in the chapters that we read in Nightjohn.

The next story we read was “Mascot” and it’s the story of Malcolm X. When Malcolm X was around the age thirteen it is the turning point of his life. Malcolm first decided to try boxing like his brother did. His first match was against a white boy named Bill Peterson. He lost twice to Bill and Bill was his first and last match of boxing. Malcolm X explained how black people can not just get whipped and come out with their head up. The only place where the black people could whip a white person is in the ring and not get whipped back, well of course if they lost. The next thing that Malcolm describes in the story is his school days. He describes how he acted during school got him sent to the reform school. He went to the detention home in Mason, Michigan first and that was run by Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin. While he stayed with the Swerlin’s he said he began to realize that white people will become an issue with Malcolm later on. Another thing that he realizes is the Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin treat him very nice, but they treat him as if he was a pet to them and not as another person like themselves. A white person will never see a black man as he sees himself. At the reform school that he was going to, he was actually pretty popular and succeeded. He became class president.  The only thing that was still wrong with the school was that they still used the language that Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin used as if he wasn’t just standing there right there in front of them. As Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin treated him like a pet, the teachers and students treated him like a mascot. The next major part that occurs in this chapter is when Malcolm’s step sister, Ella, comes to visit Boston. Malcolm begins to look up to his step sister because she is becoming successful in Boston. Ella then told Malcolm that he should come visit her sometime while she is in Boston and Malcolm took that right off the bat. When he went to visit Ella, he experienced different senses in the community with other black people that he never experienced before. The next event that occurred in the chapter was that he had to go talk to his English teacher, Mr. Ostrowski about what he wants to be when he grows up. When Malcolm told his English teacher that he wanted to be a lawyer, he said come on now Malcolm think realistically. Mr. Ostrowski gave him the advice of becoming a carpenter instead of a lawyer. The strange thing is that Mr. Ostrowski encourages all of the other white students to become nurses and veterinarians even id they are not as good as Malcolm X. Malcolm changed inside after this talk. Malcolm X then ends up moving to Boston with his step sister and he feels a lot happier here than Mason. That is the end of the chapters we read in “Mascot”.

Now to compare The Great Debaters to Nightjohn and “Mascot”. There are many similarities and differences. First The Great Debaters is similar to Nightjohn because they both mainly take place in the South. The Great Debaters is mostly located in Texas and since both of them are in the South, the black people are treated very similar. The one thing that is different with how they were treated is that in Nightjohn they were slaves and in the Great Debaters they were free. The similar concept is that all the racism still took place in both the story and the movie. The blacks still want equal right when they obviously do not have it in either of these. While in Nightjohn there was horrible treatment with the slaves in the plantation with Alice, Jim and Pawley all of those go unpunished and it’s just like whipping black people in The Great Debaters and how that goes unpunished. The similarities between The Great Debaters and “Mascot” are the time which takes place in the 1930’s and in both the black people are free but still want to be completely equal. A couple other points where they are similar is that black people are now educated and the racism still plays a major part. The racism in The Great Debaters and “Mascot” are not nearly as bad as the racism in Nightjohn. In The Great Debaters when James Farmer has to pay a poor white person for hitting his pig. James is clearly more educated, but he still gets treated as if he were below the poor white man who isn’t very successful.  The last similarities between The Great Debaters and “Mascot” are that they both take place in Boston at some point and both Samantha and Malcolm want to become lawyers which is pretty impossible at this point in time. Between all three of this stories and movie they all have different plot lines but have the same theme which is civil rights or human rights which is what we are talking about now. Those are the similarities and difference between The Great Debaters, “Mascot” and Nightjohn.

11-28-10 Blog

Alrighty so this week well we only had 2 days so we didnt do much. On monday in first period class all we did was watch a movie for u.s. history, in second period we did math as usual and got homework then third period we watched another movie and in english we finised the movie or atleast most of it which i am lovingggggg the movie and then 5th period i had lunch. sixth period is study hall and 7th period we watched a movie in biology and 8th period we watched a movie in spanish and so we had to read the subtitles which i hated because then  couldnt watch the movie if im readin the entire period. then tuesday we did the same stuff and then 4th period i went to the clinic and called my mom because i wasnt feeling good at all. ok so wednesday i went over  to my cousins house and slept over and we went to this frozen yogurt place and it was amazinggg u got to choose what kind and how much u wanted because u did it your self then they had like a bar of toppings and u put however much u want and then ther was the syrup and stuff and it was really good. then thursday was thanksgiving and we always have an amazing thanksgiving because my aunt makes theses realllyyy good and the greenbean stuff was good. another thing that i really like is the turkey this year that my uncle fixed up for all of us and my moms apple and pumpkin pie are always really good too. on friday we didnt do too much just hung out around home with my grand parents and saturday was kinda a busy day or me because in the morning i was supposed to have a soccer game but since i was up most of the night friday night coughing and not being able to sleep my mom took me to the doctor. the doctor said i had a really bad sinus infection so i have to swallow these pills that are kinda big but i dont have that much trouble swallowing them. and i talked to my teammates and they said we tied 1 to 1 i think but thats better than losing. then we had another game at 2 on saturday and i played in that one and it was suppperrrr cold out which stinks when i have a bad cough and its hard to breathe. so i did ok and at half time we were losing 2 to 1 and by the end of the game we came back and won 3 to 2 which was greattt. today i had another early game and my breathing was alot better and i played foward for almost the entire game besides when i sat out for a couple min and i was soooo close on scoring a lot of goals but i just couldnt finish them for some reason and so im really sore now since i havet played since highschool season and so all of my muscles are pretty tight but oh well we won 4 to1 and since it was a blast fc showcase tournament there was no championships which i wish there were because we would have been in them and would have gotten a trophy to start off the season. and we dont have any more soccer until the spring. well thats all for today so ill see u guys tomoro

11-19-10 blog

Alrighty so I'm on my iPod thinking about what we have done this week and I didn't really like the first part of the story we read one day when mr. Potter read to us. I enjoyed reading the next one by myself because I tend to focus a little more and I get a little bit moreout of the stories. When we started the video I thought great I'm probably going to fall asleep and then of course the first day we watched the movie I fell asleep for like 10 min and I guess that's better than sleeping the entire period. For what I saw on the first day I thought it was pretty good. Then the today when we watched some more of it I stayed awake the entire time which means the movie is good if I'm awake during it haha. So I had to do this blog today because I'm leaving tonight at 7:45 to go to new Albany highschool an leaving at 8 to go to fall weekend which is with young life. Young life is every we'd (except this wed because of thanks giving.) any way we dance and sing to different songs and there are mini skits and some of the leaders dress up and stuff and they just act crazy. Then at the very end we do a 10-15 min bible study and if u really think about it it really goes down to heart and then we go to mcdonalds after the bible study. So over all young life is amazing and fall weekend is going to be fun too. It's also my first time well g2g and finish getting ready. I'll see u guys on Monday.

11-14-10 Blog

alrighty so the week was ok. im not sure what to really talk about but we can start off with the play to kill a mockingbird. in my opinion it was great. the actors did great and overall i thought everything as planned or atleast if they did mess up i didnt notice haha. Grace who played scout did really well the only thing i would have to say that wasnt good was the mic on her because when her part had to scream it hurt my ears because they had the mic up so loud and along with some of the other cast members. The people who played jem and dill did really well too i think they should of had real lemon drops and a real rock or something to make it a little better. boo radleys actor didnt do much but he had a good part considering arthur was tall and he was obviously tall. some other good actors that i thought did well was the people who played ... Atticus, the judge, bob ewell, tom robinson, well lets just say everyone in the play did amazing and whoever had the solo for the colored church did great.. is he in choir?? if not he should be :)
so friday i got to miss most of the day because i had the eastland thing but my subject which was teaching was held in the auditorium because the actual class will be at clark hall when they finish. it went really well to me. i got to meet new people and it was fun. better than being in class :) but the only bad part about that is that i have tests tomoro to make up. so friday night i went to the blue jackets game and the first period was the best because they were actually playing and second period everything went down hill from there. at the end of the game the final score was five to one so they did realllyy bad that game, but hey everyone has their good and bad days. we cant do anything about it. then saturday morning i woke up early to go help rake leaves and raise money for honor flight. it is for interact club and the saturday before we raised 500 dollars for honor flight and we were planning to match that this saturday. we havent found out what we raised yet but we will find out wed. i did get to miss soccer practice saturday morning but it was for a good cause so whatever and then after that was done i got to drive my dads sports car home and it was amazingggg i was happy to drive it. then i went to my neighbors house and helped her brother and his friends with some fort thingy. today i got up and went back to my neighbors house and did the same thing and then at 245 we left to go to y soccer practice and i drove there and it was fine. the practice however i hated because our new coach jesse couldnt be there so we had our old coach and he likes to run us so we ran but unfortunatley my knee started to hurt a lot so i had to sit out and we had to practice with the U-17s and their coach likes to run them too so like everydrill we did included running. but like seriously thats not the purpose of soccer if we wanted to run in practice then we would do track not soccer. yeah yeah soccer u do have to run but not a ton if you play it right and posess the ball. thats the whole point to make small plays and then the big picture will come which in this case you would score. jesse likes to focus on the little things that you need to have down in order to play really good posession and stuff so like our passes have to be perfect and then ou traps and touches on the ball we arent always going to play a long ball and do a 100 yard sprint like track. thats not the game but whatever thats the journal for thhis  week ready for the next blog..not

11-7-10 Blog

Alrighty so this week was pretty good. normally i get bored with plays but i dont normally read so maybe thats why haha. i have enjoyed the play or whatever you want to call it because it tells a lot of facts that you have to think about.i personally think that the 16 year old boy is guilty because the woman in the window saw him do it and then there are many other facts that support it unlike the juror 8 that knows hes guilty but making up random stuff that is pursuading the other jurors into changing their vote to not guilty. also the other part i like about the book is how some of the jurors have personal issues like juror 3(me) and how they get in fights and get really angry over something that is pretty little and not worth fighting over haha. well thats it for the week i am looking foward to next week.
ok so unfortunately i forgot about the response thing because i normally do it friday night but we had to go drive 2 hours away to pick up my dog. it was worth it and who cares about like 5 points. his name is woody. he was alread named and hes 9 pounds and probably about the size of a cat:). he is realllyyy well behaved and we took him to his first soccer game and yeahh it was cold out but we brought him a blanket and i wraped him up in it and he layed on my lap the entire time. he doesnt bark much and im pretty suprised because he is a morkie which is a yorkie and maltese mix. he loves to play and try to kill a stuffed toy that sqeaks. and then again he also loves to give kisses and lay on your lap like now lol. he never gets shy about anyone or anything its great. well thats it for this week ill be happy to write again next sunday...nott

alrighty well im happy that we are done reading the book To Kill A Mockingbird. I really enjoyed the book because there were parts that you would not expect and others that you kind of can expect. For example i would have never thought that tom robbinson would try to escape jail with a diabled hand and that he got like 17 different times. Also how they sad if he had 2 good hands he would have escaped with out getting killed. The other part that i was suprised about was that boo radley killed bob ewell because for how long he was inside and watching scout and jem. i would have expected someone else to kill him or that he would kill himself not boo radley. I also didnt think that boo would be smart enough to grab a kitchen knife to protect jem and scout. I dont think the movie is as good as the book because i feel like they are taking out huge chunks of the movie that i thought were important. The movie to me didnt make much sence because some of the parts that they took out i think needed to be in the movie to understand it. i also missed a day so i dont know if the part that i was thinking was in the beginning even though in the book its like half way through. well thats it for the book. i am glad that the quarter is over because too many teachers all assign tests on the same freaking day and its sooooooo annoying because that just ruuins my night when i have to study for hours making sure that i know everything. Oh and they always assign it like the day after trick or treat and im like realllyyyyy is that necessary but whatever. ok so this weekend was soo much funnnn. Jen wood came over friday and we walked to cicis for dinner and then that night stephanie scurlock, daniel, and caleb came over too and we played ghost in the grave yard and then we got bored so we just started talking and i found out somme info that i wouldnt have expected but then we all came into my house and played xbox or spoons except with candy and we were playing songs that related to us in some way and it was just over all an awesome friday. thhen saturday i went shopping at easton and got some clothes with taylor t and rachael holt then i spent the night at stephanies house along with salor and today im with stephanie again. if you havent noticed we are together a lot and thats cause we r neighbors and yeah so my sister won both of her games yesterday and i think they won today im not sure but championships are at like 2 so yeahh good day again. i want to go driving though cause i  need my hours in and i feel like driving so yeahh thats the blog post for this week looking foward to next weeks one ....not welp bye byes

Alrighty so this week we of course were still reading the book that i find quite interseting. Except for it switched to the trial. i liked the boo radley and his house stuff like part one but i also thought that the chapter with the full trial was pretty intersting because atticus had to defend tom and even tho he lost he still fought and kept the jury really late and made the trial a very long one. i dont get what was the huge deal with jem, dill and scout sitting in the colored section balcony because they did nothing wrong to them. i feel like the rest of the county is messeddddd up because the fact that they hate the colored people. I havent finished reading the rest of our homework yet but i am looking foward to what the book has in for me since the trial is over and atticus lost which i knoww he ws upset about. Another thing i am looking foward to is the week ahead of us for english. i know we will have a quiz because when do we not have a quiz over this book for the week? NEVER!! but i think the quizes are pretty easy, i have missed like one or 2 on the quizes and the vocab is the worst about it because i am not filling it out each time and they are already in the packet. the packet also helps a ton and im sure i have said that in the past blogs but its true. Well thats it for english and oh i did miss half a day on friday so i have a lot of catching up to do but its not too bad. Alrighty so onto my weekend. It was like the most amazing weekend i have had in a longggggg timee. i was sad that jen couldnt spend the night but that didnt ruin it entirely. i was at my neighbors house and we walked up to cicis pizzas for dinner with like seven people total and then after that we came back and played four square and then we went to my other neighbors house for a bon fire and i didnt know most of the peoplle who came over because they are younger than but it was great. we blew up pop cans and it was hilarious because everyone got really scared and then we had glow sticks and we threw them into the fire and they like squirted out the colors and it got all over the chairs we were sitting in. so that was amazing, but the night got even better because some people left because they had to go and couldnt stay, but with the people who stayed we played ghost in the grave yard and it was pretty scary cause its like 10 at night and its pitch black in the back of the yard and then natalie shotts hid and she was hiding for like legit 45min because we could not find her but we were txting her and she kept asking do u give up yet and we heard different movements in the woods and then like shadows and so we were screaming and probably making the neighbors mad but hey oh well and then paulinas dad showed up and we couldnt find her because she was in it with natalie and so we called natalie and then she was whispered in thaat creepy voice she said do you wanna play a game and thats from saw and that scared all of us because we were already freaked out and thought we were going to die and so then i took the flashlight and walked down the street looking for them and the police came down the street at 1045-1050 and so i was like great im going to e taken because i thought it was 1 so i was praying that it wasnt 11 because thats curfew and he asked me like heyy what are you doing and where do you live and i probably could have peed my pants but i didnt and he said if he sees anyone he will tell them to go home but eventuallyy we finally found paulina and natalie and they kept going around the house and hiding and stuff so it was an intense night. i didnt think i was going to be able to sleep because of that haha but i finally fell asleep at like 230 in the morning so it was all good and that was all one day/night. and then today i went on a run and went to bw3s for dinner . well thats it for today ill talk to everyone tomoro.

Alrighty so i am extremelyyyyy happy that we had a four day weekend because im pretty sure i would not have been able to make it through school on thursday and friday. So during school while we have been reading the book i find it very interesting and i love the book which doesnt happen much. i like how mr. potter goes over the chapter because he helps me pull out the main ideas and understand it better unlike other teachers in the past that hardly help you. also the packet questions are great because they help me study before the quizes and will be a huge help when it coumes to the big test over the book. Chapter 11 was interesting just because of how jem ruined mrs. duboses (whatever her name is) flowers and as a punishment she wants him to read to every day after school for two hours. for me that would be a punishment because i absolutely hateeee reading but ill do it if i have to and then how the alarm clock would go off later and later each day which would stink too because then that is the longer you have to stay with someone you dont like in the first place because of what they have said about their father. by the end of that chapter i would have never thought that she would have died. i dont know why i wouldnt think that when they kept saying she has been sick for a while. another thing is how she gave jem the flower that he had ruined and how it was in a box like as a present or something, but whatever. well that was it for english now for my weekend. well my weekend was pretty good, thursday my parents were working so i was home alone with my sister all day so i decided that i would ask our neighbors up the street if they wanted to walk up to cicis since i live behind stoneridge and so we walked up to stoneridge for lunch and cicis was good although they did change the area a little bit. then later my sister had a cross country meet and she did good she was on the varsity team since they had to divide up and she got 38th out of like 118 and that was varsity. there was another 100 or so people on the jv team so she did great. i dont think i could run like that. then for the guys one of the kids set a new record for that course with a record of 10:58 which is insaneeee because thats like 5 and half min for a mile and i cant even do that right now it would take a lot out of me to run that much but hey overall thats great and the day was good then thursday night i slept over at my cousins house cause on friday we took her kids to the mall because they were getting their halloween pictures taken... that didnt go so well cause they were getting impatiant and cranky cause they were hungry but thats how little kids are then saturday and today i was at my grandma and grandpas house because it was my grandpas birthday yesterday so we spent time with them and went out to eat which the food was good too.. well thats it for today and im ready for this week

Alrighty well i kinda forgot to do this until like right now when my friend and i were talking about writing journals and stuff so thanks to her. Anyway this week we started the book to kill a mockingbird and when we had a sub the day we got the packet and she handed it out saying u have a test over the first 5 pages i thought what the heck how do we have a test over the first five pages when we just got this so i started reading and i actually only read like the first 3 pages because the other 2 pages just had too much on it at the time and i ended up only missing one on the quiz so i was happy haha. The first chapter of the book was pretty boring and had nothing to it. then when we got to the chapters that sstarted to get interesting and so far im really liking the book. I thought it was interesting on how the kids played boo radley as a game and had his family as characters. Another part i thought was interesting was how Mr. Radley took his kid out of school because he got in trouble. Also how he was not allowed outside the house and that he ended up inside the house for 15 years and hes an adult still in the house. after that part he was cutting paper and stuff with scissors and most likely has a mental problem now from being inside the house all the time and how he stabbed his father in the leg as soon as he walked in the house. So overall im loving the book and that doesnt normally happen when it is a book we have to read. When Mr. Potter told us we had to draw a pictures of Boo Radley, i got excited because i love to draw and since all we had to do was draw his bloody hands a squirrel which was easy and the rest we got to make up ourselves. So thats exactly what i did i drew what i thought he looked like with his bloody hands and squirrel in one hand and then i put in his other bloody hand scissors since he stabbed his dad. i have his house in the background with someone looking out the blinds which was mentioned in the story. Also i have the fence out in his front yard and a tree infront of the gate with a silver gum wraper. Well thats my blog for today and its 10:10 on 10/10/10 how cool lol :) see ya in class everyone

10-1-10 Blog

To start it off this week was pretty easy just like it has been for the past how ever many weeks we have been in school. I got all of my bib cards onto a works cited page and that didnt take very long. along with the title page that didnt take long either. im not the best at english and making outlines is normally pretty hard for me, but this time i felt like it was the easiest. the only problem i had was the thesis statement. i always struggle with those and the conclusion. when i had to start the outline i was not quite sure on how to start it off, but then i just started organizing my notecards which takes forever if you dont put a heading and of course i forget to put some headings on some of the cards. so i had to read through those cards to figure out where i wasnted to put them. then after i got all of that figured out i started typing up some facts. after that i found out that some of he cards didnt belong in a certain group because it could go in with either the trial or that group so i had to make my decision on which one it had more information about so that took some time. finally i had a six page out line and i said wahoo this paper is going to be four pages with a 6 page outline. the only thing with the outline is that a speech outline is different than a research outline which stinks because you have to shift gears and go back to the english version. the next step after the outline was starting the rough draft. the hardest part about the rough draft for me is the how do i start and what thesis am i going to use or i dont know how to make a thesis. the other hard part is how do you end a research project in your conclusion? i worked really hard in class to get my research project rough draft done because i didnt want to do any of it at home. plus i haad other tests to study for, so i try to use any class time i get to an advantage of not having hw but also getting things done that i needed to get done. I am finally done with my rough draft and i have to fix like two more problems on it and then i have my final draft and just have to staple all the parts together. overall this research project we did on trials was one of the easiest ones that i have ever done because i had the check list in front of me so i got to work ahead if i needed to. well that was my journal for this week. movies tonight and the soccer game and dad's work cook out tomoro :) exciting weekend!!

Alrighty so all last week we went to the library and it was pretty cold. I am glad that we are back in the classroom because i work so much bettr at a desk and not at a computer, but whatever works i guess. I have everything turned in so far which means i have a 100 on the project so far the part im going to lose points for is the actual research paper, just because that's how it always end up. The worst part about the entire project is the bib cards. I got those done and i was soo happy when i did because i hated trying to the information, but when you use the database on the school libraries website, it makes it soo much easier. They already have all of the information for your notecard. It also helps you with your works cited page because all you have to do is go to the website and copy down the information. Today we had to turn in our title page and that was the easiest part because it takes like 2 min. Then when mr. potter said we had to start on our research outline, i was not ready for that. I don't like making outlines because i tend to write sentences and not short facts or even like one or two words. Another thing is the whole organizing the notecards which can take some time so i tried to work fast today and it worked. i had all of my notecards sorted out an then when i started working on my outline everything was going great. so i only have like two paragraphs left which includes the conclusion. i have a total of eight paragraphs alrighty and i have to add two more!! This paper should be really easy to write since i have so many paragraphs to write with and since it has to be five to six pages long it will be really easy. well i wrote a lot today since i am study hall and won't be able to type over the weekend because i won't be home and where i am going there will be nooooo computer and i dont have time tonight with soccer and then right after the ble jackets :) well ttyl whoever reads this <(")

Alrighty so when we were assigned this research project, I was okay with having to look up information because I love being on the computer and not having to reading a book and write a paper on it later. Then when Mr. Potter decided to hand out this huge packet all about the project, I thought how am I going to get all of this done in like three weeks along with having to study for other subjects and working on their home work assignments. Well after we started to work on the research project in the library, it was going pretty easy. By the way that library is freezing and there are a lot of my friends that ask my why do I have a sweat shirt of my north face on all the time, well I have to tell them that it is freezing in there and they have like no heating which I hate. Any way, I really like the due date chart or list because then I can work ahead if I feel like it so that way I get that out of the way and just focus on the other classes. I thought this project was going to be pretty hard since we didn't get to pick out of anything to research, but I guess trials are fine too. I chose the Patty Hearst trial and it is about a woman that was kidnapped when she was younger and then she ended up robbing a bank. There are many people who think that she was brain washed since she was kidnapped and then she turned around and ended up robbing a bank which makes noo sence at all, but there are some crazy people out there. I have actually liked this research project so far. The only thing that I am not looking foward to is the outline that we have to do. I have never really been good with outlines because I like to write out the whole note card or sentence that will be in my paper. Well that is my blog for this week. I hope that I can talk long like I did today throughout the year because I also hate the fact that we have to do this. I am off to my sisters soccer game and then shopping and other homework so I will talk to all of you guys tomorrow at school. :)

So today English class was pretty chill, which I love. I edited Jada's persuasive essay and it was good. I am probably going to edited my own paper soon and see how much i need to add or take away. Then I will turn it in, into turnitin.com and see what happens since I have never used that wedsite before. I don't know what we are doing tomoro, but i hope it is a relaxing day like today.

After school there is a JV Gold soccer game and some one should come watch us play at the highschool at 5:30.

9-12-10 Blog

Well I kind of totally forgot to do this over the weekend, but thankfully i remembered. I actually love English class this year. During middle school and elmentary I have never really enjoyed English class because it was boring, but this year seems like it is going to be a very fun year. With that over the week in English class I kind of enjoyed the poetry packet and reading them. I like to write them more though if I am in the mood too. Then when we got assigned the persuasive essay assignment I was excited because that's my favorite type of essay to write. I am writing about whether or not teenagers should get their licenses taken away for failing highschool. I agree with having their licenses taken away, just because it isn't that hard to pass a class as long as you do your homework and study for test. When we had all period to work on our essays and I got more than half of it done and i think it is pretty good as a rough draft right now. I am excited to see what will go on this week in English.
Over the weekend i had a soccer game and we tied 2 to 2. Then I had to drive two and a half hours to my cousin's suprise birthday party which was extremely fun. Today I pretty much slept all day long. Tomorrow I have a soccer game that is home at south so if any one wants to come you can.
