blog 2/9/11

Ok so im going to blog early because i dont feel like doing this later in the week and i have time now. So we just finished reading a story about this boy named porgie who i believe is 13 at the beginning of the story and he was going to turn 14 soon. He goes to school and his teacher is mr. wickens and while he is teaching progie starts drawing a picture of these eagles because he wants to find out what is over top of this hugee wall that is like 500 feet in the air i think is what they said im not even totally sure how tall it is. Mr. Wickens keeps trying to tell progie to stop looking for new things and that what is in the books is what you are supposed to be believing. Porgie has gotten paddled and has had other punishments for looking for new discoveries but choses to keep looking. One day he went to the library to find a book about magic and how to get over the wall with eagles. His one idea is to catch a dozen eagles and to make them fly over the wall. So when he is at the library the librarian comes over and tells him that little kids are not allowed to be in the adult section which is where he is. he comes up with a lie saying that his uncle told him to go get a book and asked if that was ok and the librarian said yeah and so on. so then porgie checked the eagles book out in his uncles name. Then he went home and put it in his room underneath a loose floor board. he went about his day and then while he was supposed to be asleep he got up and got the book from underneath the floor board and started reading about what all he needed to make this eagle machine to come together and to fly up over the wall or atleast on top of the wall. He went outside and went up on top of this huge hill and started to make this he got it and ran down the hill and his feet started to pick up off the ground and he was flying this machine that he just made. Then after being up kind of high he decided he needed to land this huge machine. the machine weighed a lot and his landing was not the best. he crashed the machine and besides all of that he ended up getting caught because someone saw him up in the cave with the machine and so the "black man" was going to come after him. by the end of the story he gets in a fight with his brother because he didnt get his new broom for his 14th birthday and then he got up on the wall and the black man is mr. wickens and the other side of the wall is where his father is and they dont believe in magic so they use machinery instead. g2g to lunch see you later
